Problems with Mako VOD on Linux

1. My default player is totem, I tried telling ff to use vlc, but may have
picked the wrong file type and so totem is still (not) playing eretz
nehederet

2. I can play it on vlc, sort of. If I copy the address from ff and use it
in vlc to open a network stream with this address, it plays in vlc, but if I
pause the show, it hangs. I am trying to save it to disk, and am getting an
error message from vlc. I may be able to resolve it later. For now it seems
to be saving the file, though it looks like it will take the playing time of
the show to save it.

 Streaming / Transcoding failed:

It seems your FFMPEG (libavcodec) installation lacks the following encoder:

MPEG AAC Audio.

If you don't know how to fix this, ask for support from your distribution.

3. What is mmsrip? It seems like a very useful tool, but is not installed or
available through synaptic.

Am using Ubuntu 9.10 32x.

Thanks,

Z.
