It is not clear to me whether any (minor?) POP3 disruption will be
reflected there, as long as the web interface runs without globally
detectable problems. Actually, POP has historically been more reliable than
web for Gmail - there were multiple and high profile outages of Gmail in
the past, and POP was never interrupted in any of those instances. And
whenever I use the web interface to Gmail I see those "Oops... You message
has not been sent..." or the interminable "Still working..." messages all
the time (at least with FF on Linux).

Anyway, whatever the problem was, it's gone. Thanks.
