Does anyone know of a magnifying glass for X that magnifies areas that
are hidden by the magnifying glass' window? If so, this is precisely
the same problem that Valery is seeking an answer to.<br>

I know that there are such apps in Windows (and I'm not sure how those
work either, I think using some kind of DirectPaint trickery).<br>
