<div dir="ltr">Hi All,<div><br></div><div>As promised, here is my report on the Asus 1005PG from Orange:</div><div><br></div><div>I am now writing this report on it.</div><div><br></div><div>The first thing I did was to boot Ubunu Lucid UNR from an SD card - no problem. The UL30 series doesn't boot from SD.</div>
<div><br></div><div>As soon as I got the desktop, I saw all works out of the box. I right-clicked the NetworkManager icon and clicked the Edit Connections option. Clicked on the Mobile Broadband tab and added a connection for Israel and Orange. The first screen of the wizard gave me the Modem name - Huwei (I think) and then I only had to change the default APN to 'uinternet' - that's it!</div>
<div><br></div><div>Over all - this model is less comfortable than the 1000HE, but is no doubt better: It is lighter, smaller (about %20 smaller) and has a LED screen and a better CPU (N450).</div><div><br></div><div>The only thing that bugs me is the Bluetooth: Some say it has Bluetooth and some say it doesn't. When I try to start the service nothing happens and the Bluetooth setup in the System settings says Bluetooth is not present.</div>
<div><br></div><div>The BIOS doesn't show Bluetooth under the internal devices section, but the Webcam isn't either and it works....</div><div><br></div><div>The rep at the mall stand told me she checked with Ronlight and the said it <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8">has Bluetooth, but needs a driver...</div>
<div><br></div><div>Is there a way to find out for sure?</div><div><br></div><div>I compared the lspci output between the two models, and it is identical, and the 1000HE's Bluetooth worked out of the box and has it in the BIOS...</div>
