<div dir="ltr">Hi<br><br>I have a sattellite dish, and receive channels with arabic subtitles. some of the movies are in english so i can understand, but some are in other languages (e.g. indian) so i cant.<br>as not all people here speak fluent english or read arabic, I want to add a hebrew subtitles.<br>

<br>The idea is to sample the movie around every second, use an arabic ocr, and babelfish or google translate, to translate to hebrew<br><br>i know the translation is not always very good, but i though i give it a try<br>

<br>so i need:<br>1. An OCR software for arabic (for linux of course)<br>prefferebly which can handle a picture in the background<br>2. a translation software between arabic and hebrew. or at least api to access google translate or babelfish<br>

3. a way to display the subtitles. this is easy, just create a simple X app and raise it above the movie player<br><br>btw, as mythtv can record to disk, it will also be ok to work offline (but i prefer to translate in real time).<br>
