To all of you who are baking this week with a brachah, I want to remind those of you who set aside this special Shabbat to have in mind my daughter for the bracha of children


We need a strong concentration of our teffilot for this young couple.

Shabbat mevarchim Rosh Chodesh Iyar.  April 17th.  The Shabbat -RIGHT after Pesach. 

Don’t forget the KEY!!! - it is a custom to shape the challah like a key (a skeleton key?).
Some put a key IN the challah.
It is called the Key to Sustenance.  This to remind us of the Manna which began to fall in the month of Iyar.  (and this is Shabbos Mevarchim Iyar, the Shabbos right after Pesach,)
This symbolizes that the key to our livelihood is in Hashem's hands - as the manna was in HIS hands,  We pray that Hashem will open for us His store of treasures and pour abundance on us.   (from the Book of our Heritage, by Eliyahu Kitov)
