Tour de Beit Shemesh

The 4th Annual Tour de Beit Shemesh Road Race will take place:
Friday, September 4
Organized by the Samson Riders Biking Club

The competitive race is open to riders registered with the Israel Cycling
Federation (registration details below). The amateur (popular) ride is open
to the public. 
Non-cyclists are invited to watch the race and encourage the competitors

The Route:
The fast and challenging route goes along Shderot Levi Eshkol overlooking
forests and beautiful views. The route passes between old Beit Shemesh and
the Heftziba neighborhoods. The route enables residents of BS to watch the
event from close up.

To all Beit Shemesh residents: 
Pay attention. On the day of the race, Levi Eshkol Street will be closed
between the hours of  7:00 - 12:00. No exit from Sfat Emet to Ben Zeev.
Check local papers for full details.

Parking: 
You will be able to park in the outlying neighborhoods (i.e., on Tavor or
Ben Zeev).

Kick off times: periodically between 7:00 - 12:00
Award ceremonies at 10:30 and 12:00
Amateur (popular) race for the whole family will start at 12:15
Starting point: Pisgot HaSheva Park (Migdal haMayim) - Shderot Levi Eshkol
Length of the circuit: 2.38 km
Climb : 80 meters

To register for the competition: You must be a member of the Igud Haofanayim
for 2009 and have accident insurance and a doctor's note that you can
participate in this competition. Riders without this permission cannot
compete. (This is not relevant for the popular race). To sign up go to :

Fees:
80 NIS - for members of the cycling federation
50 NIS - for soldiers and youth
160 NIS: for competitors who are not members of the cycling federation
-includes insurance for the day
Registration ends Sept. 2nd at 22:00
