[RBS] tiny bites on back of neck?

My 10 month is scratching his head a lot and has tiny red bites on the base 
of his hairline across his neck.  He doesn't have much hair and its all 
blonde and silky so its easy to see he does not have lice nor does anyone in 
our house BH so I can rule that one out.   I don't see ANYTHING.  Any 
suggestions as to what it might be? I tried switching shampoos adn changing 
his linens  already.
