[RBS] fascinating study project at the RBS Matnas

You are kindly invited to a fascinating study-project  (in Hebrew) that will 
be held at the  RBS Matnas , following Shavuot.

The LIBA project is a Gesher initiative, founded by Udi Aricha, a Ramat Beit 
Shemesh resident. The goal of the project is to train facilitators of 
study-groups of Jewish texts within their working environment, while 
creating a cultural and experiential encounter.



The study can revolve around any topic that the group is interested by: 
Hagim, current events, the weekly portion and others. The discussion about 
ancient text, in a diverse group, makes room for new understandings, and 
arises a meaningful intellectual discussion. As an outcome of the 
discussion, the relevance of the the Jewish sources to our life today is 
revealed.



Miky, an employee in a Tel Aviv High-Tech company, runs a study group at 
work for his colleagues, before every holday. The study before Pesach was 
dealing with the four suns- and who do they represent today. Miky, who is a 
identify himself as a secular  jew who is connected to the Jewish culture, 
says that peer-study enables an encounter between co-workers regardless of 
their background or their status at work.

It enables the workers to take home some things to  think about.

And what about working hours? Miky claims that he has reached an agreement 
with the administration, according to which, the study will take place 
during staff meetings. Furthermore, the study refreshes and opens everyone's 
head- and we are all going back to work energized. The administration, it 
appears, is happy with the project, because it positions the organization as 
a "learning organization".



Presently, there are 6 groups running in different working-places in the 
Tel-Aviv & Yerushalayim area, led by leaders who went through the training 
course, by Gesher. In the course the study group leaders, learned about the 
LIBA initiative, it's rational and it's goals. They were also given tools of 
group dynamics, and marketing.



The project is supported by an active website www.liba.org.il  that has all 
the information about the project, and study-guides to different topics.



The next Leaders Training course for group-leaders, will open after Shavuot- 
in Beit Shemesh. It is a result of the cooperation of Gesher & Matnas Ramat 
Beit Shemesh.

The goal is to train group leaders from the Beit Shemesh area, who later on 
will open and lead study-groups in their various working places.

There will be a meeting once in two weeks in the evening, and 7 meetings all 
together. There won't be meeting during the month of August.
