Interested in environmental issues? Eager to learn more and become more
active? Want to connect with other people who may share your concerns and
enthusiasm?

Residents of Beit Shemesh/Mateh Yehuda are invited to join in a course on
Sustainability & Environmental Issues, starting in October.

Shemesh Yehuda, the regional environmental forum, in cooperation with Mateh
Yehuda, Beit Shemesh and the local Environment Unit is offering the course
based on the program of the Local Sustainability Center of Mercaz Heschel
(http://heschel.org.il/heshelphp/). This course aims to provide municipal
decision makers, educators & local residents with the tools to make positive
changes in environmental policy and planning in their regions.

WHAT: Experiential and dynamic learning environment covering both
theoretical and practical issues. Participant are also encouraged to develop
a practical local project (individually or in a group) for which they will
receive guidance.
WHEN: Sunday nights, Starting October 18th. 7:00 - 10:00 pm plus one Friday
morning tour in the area.
WHERE: 5 Meetings in Mateh Yehuda; 5 Meetings in Beit Shemesh area
WHO: Regional/City council members, municipal employees, principals,
teachers, leaders of community organizations, volunteers and any resident
interested in having an impact on improving our environment.

Nominal fee: 150 NIS per person.
Spaces are limited.

Shemesh Yehuda was found in 2007 as an initiative of the community building
project of Partnership 2000 of the Jewish Agency. Membership is free and
open to all residents of Beit Shemesh and Mateh Yehuda. We gratefully thank
