Listers,

After 5 years of dormancy, Mishmar Ezrachi (Citizen's Patrol)
in Ramat Bet Shemesh is coming back to life. And this is
your chance to make it succeed!

The Bet Shemesh Police Force, having invested significant
efforts in reviving Mishmar Ezrachi in our neighborhood,
is looking for civic-minded citizens for whom safety and security
is of prime concern, to join the ranks of the volunteer police
force in our neighborhood.

Officer Avi Gelberg, with over 20 years' experience in the force and
successes with creating the Mishmar Ezrachi post in Tzur Hadassah
and elsewhere, has been appointed to oversee the re-activation of
the patrol here in our neighborhood.

The Bet Shemesh Police invites all men and women between the
ages of 17 and 55, residents of Ramat Bet Shemesh A and B, who are
concerned about keeping their streets safe, to a kick-off meeting
this Tuesday evening, February 16, 2010, at 8:00 pm at the
RBS Matnas. (More details below.) This meeting is open to former
patrol members as well as to the general public.

Attendees will learn how significant is the patrol's contribution to
police efforts, how much the police force appreciates and relies
upon the patrols, and how, in practical terms, volunteers can make a
real difference in the quality of life for themselves and their neighbors.

Sign-up forms will be available at the meeting. (Please bring your
Teudat Zehut if you are considering joining.)

Mishmar Ezrachi is a highly-acclaimed decades-old effort to support police
efforts, in which volunteer neighborhood patrols are fully coordinated with
the local police, and are fully equipped with police radios, weapons, and
even vehicles. (Note that experience with firearms is not a prerequisite
for joining the force.)

Location:
Tuesday's night meeting, at 8:00 pm, will take place in the RBS Matnas
Library on Dolev. Access is through the library's rear exterior door, via
the staircase located near the ganim near the smaller Matnas parking lot.

Officer Gelberg is looking forward to meeting neighborhood residents, and to
sharing his enthusiasm for making this project a success. He welcomes
questions and comments on his cellphone, 050-764-3164.

So that ample preparations for this Tuesday night's meeting can be made,
please contact me by reply email or by phone, if you are considering
attending.

If speaking to the police makes you nervous, or if you stam prefer to ask
your Mishmar Ezrachi questions in English, then feel free to contact me.

Here's to a safer, more secure Ramat Bet Shemesh!
