Dear
Sir,
Since
making aliyah from Los Angeles several years ago, my family and I reside in
Ramat Beit Shemesh. I have a great deal
of experience and much passion for teaching and promoting Torah, and I am
seeking employment for the coming academic school year. My managerial
experience coordinating Jewish institutions is quite extensive. I am prepared to re-locate within Israel and
to occasionally travel abroad in the course of employment responsibilities.
Upon
my arrival, until Pesach, I led the planning and implementation of a Community Torah Program
at a local synagogue, Congregation Beis Tefilla. Its Rabbinic leader, a colleague &
friend, is Rabbi Chaim Zev Malinowitz, General Editor of Artscroll/Mesora
Publications. I currently teach and perform outreach work in that same
community. I have more recently had the honor of interacting with another
world-class Torah personality, Rabbi Yaacov Haber, who has become a friend and confidant.
As
you can see from the attached résumé, I have been involved in the Rabbinate,
Administration, Jewish Education and Community Service for over thirty years.
In my fourteen years at Yeshiva University of Los Angeles, I was intimately
involved in the running of a vibrant Beit
Midrash, Community Synagogue and Kollel. While at YULA, I created an Adult
Education Program, one that continues to serve the entire Southern California
Jewish community. I created and maintained a database of 7000 individuals.
Subsequent to that, I held a pulpit, revitalizing the Young Israel of Beverly
Hills, a shul that had been on the verge of closing, yet was thriving upon our
move to Israel.
Please
do not hesitate to verify my credentials.
My mentor & Rebbe is Harav Hershel Schachter shlit’a, with whom I studied at
YU and privately for four summers. I cherish his friendship and sagacious
guidance.
I am regarded as a master teacher, and an adept & talented
administrator. I personally created and subsequently coordinated YULA's
adult-studies programs. Among my adult
students are a number of high-profile professionals who study with me on a
regular basis in order to improve and enhance their textual skills. I have access to Rabbinic and Jewish lay
leadership through my associations in the US and Israel.
I
am fluent in Ivrit and Yiddish, very familiar with Sephardic
liturgy
and tradition, and I am highly experienced in pastoral counseling and kiruv. I wish to utilize these skills in harbatzat Torah and Yahadut, and I seek a suitable venue in which to
do it.
Kindly review my résumé. If
you know of an appropriate position, please contact me. Thank you in advance for your kind
consideration.
Yours
truly,
Rabbi
Harry Greenspan
