Yeshar Koach to Everybody!

On behalf of Lema'an Achai and the 200 needy families we help, I would like
to thank all those who donated and helped with this year's Matanot
Le'Evionim campaign.

B"H, in spite of the Motsei Shabbat Purim and the drenching rains (both are
'dampeners' on donations), this year's Matanot Le'Evionim was a tremendous
success!

Among the Lema'an Achai team, I would like to spotlight team leaders: Rocky
Stewart (lots of money in), Shira Bernstein (lots of money out!), Elisheva
Rose (balancing the money!), and Susan Hoffman (dozens of dynamic volunteers
in-and-out and running all over town!).

Special thanks to the volunteer drivers (including the whole contingent from
Dr Shmuel Katz' shiur); the dynamic yeshiva bochurim from Lev HaTorah who
delivered matanot l'evyonim and the incredible bochurim from Reishit who
helped raise money.

On behalf of our whole community, I would like to especially thank Rav
Avrohom Leventhal - whose creative genius and organizational skills pulled
this whole event into a great campaign.

A yeshar koach also to Rabbi Soloveichik and Rabbi Haber for their halachik
supervision over the Matanot Le'evionim.

Most of all - I would like to thank YOU, our amazingly generous donors and
always supportive community!!

Before I sign-off, I must share with you this true story from Purim day.

On Purim afternoon we received a call...

Almost two years ago, this family had called Lema'an Achai with a toxic mix
of insurmountable debt, a failed business and emotional wreckage &
dysfunction.

They called on Purim to thank us for having helped rebuild their business,
which is now a profitable, going concern; enabled them to bring their
bank-balance up from -30,000 NIS to a healthy positive; and re-established
their self-esteem and fully functional family life.

And they called to tell us that they would like their matanot le'evionim,
which they had received from Lema'an Achai, to be please picked up from
their home, so it could be used instead for families who were still in dire
need.

"Thanks to Lema'an Achai, we no longer need this extra help".
