Hebrew U Subsidized Science Chugim-


Thanks to local resident , Moti Elmaliah, we have obtained funding to create
and subsidize a Young Scientists Chug at the rbs matnas, for youth, grades
7-8.
The programs were prepared jointly with the Young Scientists groups at
Hebrew University

The chugim are as follows:

for girls: Tuesdays, 6:30 - 8:00 pm Chemistry, including:

making materials disappear, solving crimes in a forensic lab, creating
"light", making plastics, chemistry "magic", using chemicals to make
electricity, developing medication

we will learn: electrochemistry, chromatography, pharmaco-chemistry, ionic
materials, chemical energy, environmental chemistry, periodic processes, and
more

for boys: Wednesdays from 6:30 - 8pm Space Sciences, including:

beginners' astrophysics- black holes, white dwarfs, red giants, flight
principles and real launching, telescopes, principles of light, star gazing,
astrobiology (are there living creatures in space?

and a family gazing trip at the end of the course

IMPORTANT DETAILS:
each course is approximately 16- 18 meetings. one may try out once, but
after more than one meeting, the student is committed for the duration -
through the end of JULY.

The chugim cost 480 sheq (120 per month)

we would like to start immediately after pessah.

Spaces are limited, as there is a lot of hands-on in the chug.
