      Last week we acquainted you with our challahs. This week we would like to familiarize you with our exceptional range of COOKIES.

      Saidels Bakery made a strategic choice not to make regular cookies, the kind that you find in stores, but rather concentrate on a small line of six or seven specialized cookies, BLOCKBUSTERS, that require a ton of effort and time to make, but that are streets aheads of any home made cookie and worlds away from any store bought cookie.

      We would like to introduce you to them one by one, as each is a work of art that has been honed over the years to perfection.

      First up - soul food for chocaholics -

      AFTER DINNER MINTS

      Our best selling cookie. Familiar with After Eights (tm), those wafer thin after dinner treats? If you think those are good, you have a surprise coming. Our after dinner mints are wafer thin soft chocolate cookies, encased in the most delicious mint chocolate you have ever tasted. Warning!!! These cookies are highly addictive.

      COOKIELADA

      As the name suggests, this cookie is a combination of a cookie and a chocolate. Where exactly the cookie ends and the chocolate begins is not exactly clear :) Cookielada is a chocolate cookie sandwich with two layers of melt-in-the-mouth, soft cookie enclosing a to-die-for layer of chocolate cream. The overall effect is a melt in the mouth chocolate extravaganza.

      CHOCOLATE BISCOTTI

      As soft as the Cookielada is, the Chocolate Biscotti is crunchy. Anyone familiar with Biscotti knows that it is a drier, crunchy cookie that is baked twice to dry it out further. This is a perfect "dunking cookie", for dipping in tea or munching all by itself. Choc full of delectable chocolate chunks and nuts, this is a great cookie to munch on alone or to accompany your favourite hot beverage. Excellent for those cold winter nights (if winter is ever going to arrive this year :)

      For fans of coffee/mocha -

      COFFEE HAZELNUT CREAMS

      A soft, melt-in-the-mouth vanilla cookie sandwich, with a healthy layer of coffee cream in the middle, topped with a hazelnut and sprinkled lightly with cocao to provide the perfect balance between sweetness and flavour.


      If you like something a litle more tangy and exotic, try our -

      BLUEBERRY SWIRLS

      A soft, round vanilla cookie with a swirl of juicy blueberries in a spiral swirl throughout the cookie. The combination of the tart/tangy blueberries and semi sweet vanilla cookie is unbeatable and highly recommended.

      ORANGE WALNUT BISCOTTI

      Like the Chocolate Biscotti described above, the Orange Walnut Biscotti is also a crunchy cookie, this time with the intoxicating aroma and taste of oranges and walnuts. Also perfect for dunking or munching all on its own.

       
      Finally, something for the kid in all of us -

      SPRINKLES

      Round butter cookies topped with a healthy dose of multicolored sprinkles. These are not your regular sprinkle cookies that most people bake at home. They have a secret ingredient that makes them irresistable and you will not be able to stop eating them once you start.
