when gan was letting out on Friday around noon.

PLEASE NOTE: there is a crosswalk there.  That means that people are allowed to cross the street at that place and you as a driver MUST stop and let them cross.  

Even more illegal and dangerous, is passing a car that DID stop at the crosswalk in the oncoming lane - you run the risk of hitting those people crossing, not to mention a head-on collision with the oncoming car.  

Don't be in such a hurry - you'll eventually get where you're going, but you'll end up in a far worse place if something awful should happen.  We have too much of that already in this neighborhood and don't need any more senseless tragedies.
