Invitation to a Special Cine-Concert (featuring Steve Horenstein and his colleagues)

I would like to invite you to a showing of a new "cine-concert" to be performed by "Butterfly Effect Ensemble",
original music to the classic silent film "Golem" (Wegener, 1920), based on
the famous Jewish myth and the Maharal of Prague.

This piece will be premiered in the Festival d'Ile de France in September.
The ensemble is presenting a special pre-premiere showing in Jerusalem:

Wednesday, August 31, National Library of israel,
Music Auditorium, Bella and Harry Wexner Libraries of Sound and Song,
Hebrew University, Givat Ram Campus, 7PM

The concert is by invitation only, free admission.

Members of the ensemble:
Lior Navok, piano
Stephen Horenstein, woodwinds and live electronics
Jeffery Kowalsky, percussion

The music to "Golem" is both lyric, percussive and electric, and uses traditional Chasidic Jewish melodies.

If you are interested in attending, please contact Steve Horenstein (horen52 at netvision.net.il<mailto:horen52 at netvision.net.il>)
by email in the coming week. For entrance into the Givat Ram campus security, he will need your car make and registration.

"From expansive meditative spaces to dense primitive primal screams" CD Commentary

Butterfly Effect is a cutting-edge ensemble creating dreamlike episodes with live performance, sound and visual imaging. This rare meeting of three veteran Israel musical creators, along with guest visual artists, results in an experience touching the subliminal, unexpected and surreal.

The large array of instruments include: percussion, ( woodwinds (bass flute, baritone saxophones, clarinet, ethnic instruments) and keyboards(grand piano with array of sticks and beaters, prepared piano).
