Also worth mentioning are the people who pull over for "just a second" to
let their kids out of the car on a red and white section, forcing other
drivers to go around them on a solid white line in a blind curve! Drivers
are simply passing their costs (time delays in parking in a section where
there is parking) onto others (making a line of 5 cars build up behind them
to wait or, worse, endangering themselves and others when they cross a solid
white line) when they do this. 

There are designated areas where cars can pull over in parking bays then let
their children walk 20 meters to the school entrance without needing to
cross any streets.

I just found out that there's an UNBELIEVABLE new SAFETY invention for cars
in Israel.  It's currently being installed in all cars throughout the
country!
 
It's called a "blinker" or "directional signal."  It's a little stick  that
is located just to the left of the steering wheel.  When you move  it down,
a little light on the LEFT side of your car flashes and when you  move it
up, a little light on the RIGHT side of your car flashes.  They say  it's
there to show other drivers which way you intend on turning -- EVEN IF  YOU
JUST WANT TO PULL OVER TO LET YOUR KIDS OFF AT SCHOOL.
 
Incidentally, the manufacturer suggests that if you want to stop on the side
of the road, you should PULL ALL THE WAY OVER so you're not blocking others.
Also, not a good idea to stop in the middle of a traffic circle or  in an
intersection.  They didn't officially publish this part but I'm  pretty sure
that stopping ON THE SIDEWALK is not a good idea either.
 
Finally, I've said it before and will say it again - PLEASE TURN OFF YOUR
ENGINE before getting out of your car - even if you're just running inside
to  drop your kids off / pick them up.  It literally takes 2 seconds to turn
it  off and 2 seconds to turn it back on.  It's just a matter of time until
someone jumps in your car & steals it or your kid jumps in the driver's seat
to play.  REMEMBER:  If your car is stolen in this way and the thief  has
your keys, good chance your insurance WON'T PAY!  As an added benefit,  you 
can save money on gas by not burning it while idling for the minute.   No 
need to support the arabs more than we have to.
