HOTELS – What You MUST Know BEFORE You Go

This lecture is open to men and women (with mechitza).

You can expect answer to the following questions, among others:

•	Hotel’s Hechsher – Year-round or for a finite period? Mashgiach
temidi? Separate meat and dairy kitchens?
•	Meat & Poultry Hechsher – Does the hechsher meet your “at home”
standards? Are there goyim in the kitchen?
•	Ingredients Hechsher – How are legumes and greens checked? Is the
challah separated lechatchilla or by a heter?
•	שמירת שבת – Room locks, lights, A/C? Is the mashgiach on premises?
Are the warmers and ovens locked and sealed?
•	Pesach – Who kashered, and how long before Yom Tov? was the kitchen
equipment kashered, or do they have Pesach-only equipment…and why you should
care?

community.
