[RBS] Parking RBS Mercaz Update - Why the Petition is So Important

Ephraim Naiman and I met today with R' Moshe Montag, a city council member
who is very involved with the parking issues. We discussed the short-term
and long term issues at length.

SUMMARY: The city is calling a meeting with the rental car companies as soon
as next week. The rental car places are feeling pressure, one of them even
approached the city late last week to discuss options.

Montag felt that the more pressure they feel, the easier it will be to come
to an agreement with them. He suggested continuing the petition in full
force, and that people should speak to the car rental companies directly,
too.

PLEASE, if you haven't signed yet, please do so now, for you and your
spouse, and for anyone else in your family who is affected by the driving
around looking for spots, even if they don't drive.
www.atzuma.co.il/rbsmercaz. You may have to scroll a long way down to sign.

(I strongly recommend that you read the article about this issue from this
week's Chadash paper. You can view it from the petition site,
www.atzuma.co.il/rbsmercaz.)

We all understand that the car rental companies are NOT the only parking
space users. There are the residents of the buildings who should be parking
in their under-building parking; the advertising vehicles; as well as people
selling cars.

We discussed solutions that deal with all of these issues.
