[RBS] seeking info on dry ice: where to buy , how long it stays cold etc

Determined to send my son back to his unit in Nachal Chareidi armed with
LOTS of cheese cake.  Need an idea for "refrigeration" since  they don't
have a fridge.   
Anyone know where/how  to get dry ice or how to use it?
How long does it stay cold for? If I pack it up early Sunday morning , will
it keep the cake cool until Tuesday night? 
If all else fails , any ideas for something  "cheese cake like" or "shavuous
like"  that does not require refrigeration?

(We got lots of soy puddings and choc bars, looking for other creative
ideas)
