[RBS] PLEASE! It's not too late to check your bonfire

If you were involved with a bonfire last night anywhere near open ground 
PLEASE go and check that it is COMPLETELY out (not just a little bit 
warm - COLD).


There is now a brush fire developing on Nahar Hayarden opposite our 
building which could potentially spread to the whole hillside on that 
side of the road. It (apparently) spontaneously erupted this afternoon. 
Someone who was there before me blamed it on remains of bonfires; I 
personally don't know where they were.


The fire brigade actually anticipates this and takes action to prevent 
smouldering fires from running wild. Did you know? THE AFTERNOON OF 
FIRST DAY PESACH A FIREMAN WAS DRIVING ROUND, STOPPING HERE AND THERE TO 
EXTINGUISH BIUR CHOMETZ FIRES.


Please - take whichever principle you care about more - needless 
destruction of natural vegetation or chillul shabbos/yt - and use it to 
build a habit to put out your fires COMPLETELY, EVERY TIME.
