[RBS] Rav-Kav cards

I'd like to point out that my husband took both our cards to be renewed since it will be expiring at the end of Dec.
Unfortunately they were not prepared at all to renew the card since it has not expired YET.
I'm still trying to get my head around that reasoning. The only thing they added was that we will be credited for any loss to our rides still on the card.
But note: If you use rav kav for egged as well you need to go to Egged to get credit for any loss on the egged rides once your card has been renewed.

Further to last week's discussion about problems with the Rav-Kav cards.
ANYONE who got a Rav-Kav card from SuperBus when they started 
operations (end of 2008, beginning of 2009) - the card will expire after four years.
I got my card on December 23, 2008, and was told this morning on the bus that it will expire on December 23 of this year.
 
To get a new card, go to any Rav-Kav distribution center in Beit 
Shemesh or Jerusalem and ask to get a new one.  It SHOULD be without 
charge, but that is not a guarantee.
 
IMPORTANT TO NOTE: You may not get an automatic refund of trips 
still on the old card, so it is important to go to the office when your 
card is empty of trips.  If you have a chofshi chodshi on the card, you 
SHOULD get the remaining trips transferred to the new card, or the 
relative portion of the month paid back to you - again this is not a 
guarantee.  This is what I was told by the driver this morning (Egged).

to Yehuda, list, rbs   My daughter went through this yesterday.  Her card had in fact already expired.

The driver was nice and let her ride for free.  I'm sure that was beyond
 the call of duty!  I recommend checking the date on the card (it 
appears that the bus driver can do that for you) and taking care of it 
before it expires.

She took care of it immediately at Rav Kav in the Central Bus Station. 
 It was quick and hassle-free, and she got a full credit.  She has a 
"chofshi studenti" - the great card that gives students unlimited rides 
in Jerusalem (including Egged Beit Shemesh Jerusalem lines, and 
including the Rakevet Kalah) for a year.
