[RBS] uninstalling car seat

We have a broken Dr. Baby car seat that we are having trouble removing from the car- the latch mechanism seems to be stuck, and we cannot un-hook it from the chassis, and it is difficult to access considering that it is stuck under the seat.  We already went to Dr Baby, and they couldn't fix the broken buckle or take it out.  Right now we can't use it and it is taking up space in the car, space we need for a new car seat. Any ideas who can help us?
