[RBS] Author Shlomo Abbas is coming to the Benjamin LIbrary this Tuesday!

This Tuesday (17.7.12) at 5 PM, famous children’s author Shlomo Abbas is coming to the Benjamin Kruger Library in Matnas Meyerhoff.

Mr. Abbas has written 152 books to date, including humor, riddles, mysteries and the retelling of many folktales, aggadot and meshalim. In fact, he has worked very hard to bring these Jewish-history and folklore tales into the mainstream of Israeli children’s literature, and is the Number 1 storyteller in the country in this regard. He also was the first to popularize riddles in children’s books and has written to date 13 riddle books containing over 1100 riddles – and while he was at it, he also wrote 13 joke books containing over 2000 jokes!

It is a wonderful experience to hear this author in person, enriching all children – from those who are just beginning to read to those learning about folklore and meshalim in the upper grades as part of their literature studies. Certainly for the younger members of the audience, it will encourage them to read as well as understand what they’re reading. Abbas will speak about his own books as well as aggadot, and involve the children in all that he says and does. 

The cost is a mere 15 NIS per child, and is geared for all those in first-sixth grades. Parents, of course, are invited to stay as well!
