What is sourdough bread? All you folks from San Francisco probably know the answer to that question, but for the rest of us -

Sourdough bread is made from natural sourdough yeast, totally unlike the "Shimrit" commercial yeast you buy in the store. Natural yeast provides a more complex flavour to the bread and produces its own natural preservative as part of the fermentation process, allowing the bread to remain fresh longer.
