This year's event-our 9th annual Likrat Kallah event- is only a few short
months away but we are already busy planning it. It is scheduled for Oct.
22 at Beit Tefillah, with speaker Rabbi Dovid Orlofsky, a great Chinese
auction and raffle and of course our splendid array of salads and desserts!

Our annual event is a tremendous engine, with Siyata Dishmaya, to bring in a
good portion of the funds that allow us to keep helping the many poor brides
that turn to us each month. B"H, over the last 8 years, we have helped 1970
kallahs by giving them 6 household items for free. So many kallahs come
from families that are struggling financially-orphans, baalei teshuva,
converts, families with medical issues, and families with many children.
Having to buy the items we give for free-a set of dishes, a set of
silverware, a pot, a pan, towels, bowls, toaster sandwich maker, iron,
etc.-seems like a climb up Mount Everest. Often times, the families
literally sigh in relief when we call them to receive their items. They are
so grateful to be able to begin their household with the basics they receive
at Likrat Kallah.

Sponsoring the event is a way to enable so many people to give tzedakah.
B"H, all funds from admission tickets, Chinese auction tickets and raffle
tickets go straight to the kallahs. That is why the event is so vital.
Allow me to share with you an empowering story that I recently heard about
the value of enabling others to give tzedakah:

Two rebbetzins from the time of Rav Chaim of Volozin(my husband wasn't sure
if it was the rav's wife or his sister-in-law) used to go out and collect
money for poor people every week. They had an agreement between themselves
that when one of them would be called up to heaven after 120 years, the
other would appear to her in a dream to tell her what all their efforts in
collecting tzedaka added up to in Shemayim. Eventually one of the
rebbetzins passed away and after awhile she really did appear in her
friend's dream. She confided in her friend that while she wasn't allowed to
reveal to her what happens in Shemayim, she was given permission to tell her
this one bit of information. She went on to recall the time that they had
been out collecting and just as they were approaching a certain household
where the baal habayit always gave a donation, they saw that his carriage
was leaving and that they were just about to miss him. So, the woman (who
was still alive) raised her hand and called out, after the baal habayit, in
an attempt to gain his attention . The woman who was now in Shemayim said
to her friend, "You have no idea what a stirring you caused in Shemayim when
you raised your hand. By raising your hand, you gained the attention of the
man, who then stopped and gave his donation. By raising your hand, you
enabled someone else to donate and for that you have no idea what reward you
attained!"

Consider sponsoring the event as a zechut for someone. Hachnasat Kallah is
known to be a segulah for a refuah shelimah as well as a segulah to find
one's zivug(match).
Re: Shiduchim, Rebbetzin Rottman from Neve Yerushalayim, explained "If you
want H-shem to help you with your kallahs, you have to be helping H-shem
with His kallahs."
Regarding a Refuah, the Steipler Gaon, zt'l, explained, that in our morning
tefillot, "Ailu Dvarim She-adam Ochal Perotaheim ...." The mitzvah of
Hachnassat Kallah comes between Bikur Cholim and Levayat Hamat. Sort of a
strange placement for a happy mitzvah but the Steipler explained that the
reason is - that this mitzvah has the power to be a buffer between Bikur
Cholim and Levayat Hamat.

I'd be honored if you would join us in creating this event by giving a
sponsorship donation. If you are a business, we will advertise you in all
our advertisements. We are a project of Lemaan Achai. We are able to issue
receipts for tax purposes. Sponsorship is as follows:
Silver sponsor: 250 nis
Gold sponsor: 500 nis
Platinum sponsor: 750 nis.

I look forward to hearing from you, Sadeena Pinhasik

Subject: need sponsors for upcoming Likrat Kallah event

It's that time of year again-when we start planning our 8th annual Likrat
Kallah event, held in Cheshvan, Be'ezrat H-shem. (this year, it comes out on
Oct. 31). B"H, Likrat Kallah has helped another 300 kallahs since I posted
this very same request last year, bringing out total to 1631 kallahs. We
are now a project of Lemaan Achai and have our very own website. Please
take a peak at www.helpjewishbrides.org

Our annual event is of major importance because it allows us to help so many
kallahs throughout the year. If you are able to contribute, please know
that it is money that doesn't just help one or two kallahs-it is money that
generates the funds to help hundreds of kallahs. Now, that's a far reaching
mitzvah!

The brides we help come from all walks of life. Many have been orphaned or
come from homes where someone is ill. Others are baalei teshuva or converts
who have no parental support as they begin their new lives. Receiving 6 new
household items from Likrat Kallah is truly a breath of fresh air for
them-one less thing they need to struggle to find the funds to cover, at a
time when they are struggling to cover the costs of a basic wedding. (all
our kallahs spend minimum amounts on the wedding hall/caterer , etc, since
it is superfluous to say, that they don't have the money to cover this as
well).

Consider sponsoring the event as a zechus for someone. The mitzvah of
Hachnasat Kallah is known for two special segulot: Shiduchim and Refuah
Shelimah.

So, consider the zechus of sponsoring the upcoming Likrat Kallah event:
Silver sponsor: 250 nis

Platinum sponsor: 750 nis.

Please be in touch if you are interested.
