בבית ביצ'ם, בית אבות למוזיקאים בדימוס, מתערער יום אחד הסדר המוכר עם הגעתה
של זמרת הסופרנו האגדית ג'ין הורטון (מגי סמית'), אשר הייתה בעבר חלק מרביעיית
קוורטט מפורסמת. שלושת חברי הרביעיה הנותרים: רג'י הרציני, ווילפורד המתחכם
וסיסי הקופצנית, שכבר שוהים בבית ביצ'ם, נוטרים לה עדיין טינה על מעשה שהיה אי
שם בעבר.
