MK Moshe Feiglin (Likud) has proposed a bill that would unite the current
Ashkenaz/Sefard dual Chief Rabbis into ONE.
MK Feiglin proposed this idea because he believes having ONE Chief Rabbi
will help achieve UNITY within the Jewish people, strengthening the social
fabric our society from within, to better stand up to pressures from
outside.
MK Lipman (Yesh Atid) supports it, and today, Minister of Religious Affairs,
Naftali Bennet (Bayit HaYehudi) came out in favor, too.
MK Feiglin will be discussing this proposal, here in Bet Shemesh!
Motzaei Tzom 17 Tammuz (Tues, June 25th), in the Beis Tefillah Hall.
Details forthcoming.
