I'll admit it - we were all exhausted, so we packed up early, finishing our
"siyur" at 12:30am.
But in those short two hours, we broke up a fight that was just starting by
simply walking intothe middle fo the grup of angry boys, shakign our finger
"nu, nu , nu" as if they were preschoolers. They all laughed and calmed
down.
Then, as we were walking from park to park, a boy came running over to us .
"Please help me," he said. "i am almost finished high school, but i did
something stupid a couple of months ago, and now my school wants to throw
me out. But I am really a good student, and I have great grades and I
want to be IN SCHOOL, not in an alternative program just to do the bagrut
exams."
That was Friday. Today, Tuesday, the boy is already working with a social
worker to figure out if he can stay in his school, and if not, what other
options he has. The delay was because we couldn't exchange phone numbers
on Shabbat. But with the help and support of the entire City Without
Violence staff, it didn't take long to find the boy and hook him up with
the right professionals.

Keeping a kid in school , or finding him the right program, job or other
support, SAVES LIVES - literally.
Sayeret Horim is an easy way for us little people to make a big difference
to Am Yisrael.

Please join us - we do not have enough volunteers to walk the entire city,
in fact ther eare NO volunteers in the area of the RBS centre, Ramat Shilo
, Kishon, Soreq, Ayalon, Noam, etc. The volunteers in RBS are all from
Maor, Yarkon, Dolev, Shimshon, Mata, Refaim. We try to get everywhere, but
there is alimit to how far one can walk, and we also try to stick to the
same areas in order to develop a relationship with the kids we see every
time.
