Please do not reply to me, I have only been asked to forward this to the
lists.

*Bar Kol To Demolish RBS Shul To Make Room For Parking Spaces***

*NOTICE - Important Community Meeting*

*Your Attendance And Support Is Critical!*

Bar Kol is in the real estate business. Bar Kol is now working to add NIS
20,000,000+ to it's real estate portfolio on the backs of RBS residents -

and a local shul! The Planning Board has tentatively approved plans (with

the blessing of the Beit Shemesh Municipality!!) to add an additional two
floors to Bar Kol?s Nachal Sorek store, that would bring the building height
to 17 meters!

*The Jerusalem District Planning Board has agreed to accept the plans
subject to a number of conditions that include:*

* *

? *Destruction of the shul across the street - next to Ezras Achim.*

? *Turning the parking spaces outside the shul into 19 vertical

parking spaces to serve the commercial needs of Bar Kol. *

? *One side of Nachal Sorek will be turned into a bus lane. Private

cars will be limited to one direction only:*

? If you live on Nachal Uriah, Micha, Lachish, Nachshon or Sorek you

will be forced to drive all the way around to Ayalon to go down Nachal
Sorek.

? Traffic on the already congested Nachal Sorek will be even more

unbearable. Traffic on Ayalon will increase as private cars will need to
find another access.

? *Trees in the surrounding area will be torn down*. Experience in

RBS has shown that even when required to replant full grown trees, saplings
are planted that wash away.

? *HERE'S WHAT YOU CAN DO TO STOP THIS:*

A group of residents are organizing a unified opposition led by an
experienced lawyer to represent our interests. We believe we can defeat Bar
Kol - *WITH YOUR HELP*.

**IMPORTANT MEETING**

*When: *Tuesday, March 12th, 2013 at 8:00pm

*Where:* Ohr HaMeir, Nachal Lachish 2.

*We also need your contributions to support the costs of the lawyer, traffic
consultant and related expenses. Every person and every shekel

helps!*

  _____

The flyer that has only just been sent via the Neshei List has already
aroused a feeling of indignation in many of the local residents, stirring
some to action, and, of course, the few members of the action committee need
a great deal of support, and actual help, if the planned official protest is
to be successful.

THE BAR KOL PROTEST NEEDS YOU!

There are two immediate issues with which you might be able to help us NOW.

First, it is important to bring this issue to the attention of the media,
so, if anyone has any contacts with newspapers, especially the local ones,
please come forward, and provide the necessary details.

Second, we need to involve our local elected representatives, and to obtain
their active support, so please help us with this important task, which
includes providing the names and contact details of our BS Iryah
representatives.

Third, we wish to bring our protest to the attention of the members of the
planning committee, and to the attention of the mayor of Bet Shemesh - who
would almost certainly like to be reelected! - in order to challenge them
directly to justify to us their incredulous, wholehearted support for the
Bar Kol extension proposal, which is so clearly against the interests of the
local residents - uprooting trees, and destroying a shul, just to provide
additional parking; rerouting traffic in Sorek; ignoring the minimum
statutory parking regulations that govern such proposals; and causing
additional congestion, nuisance, noise, garbage, as well as general
inconvenience to the local residents, in addition to that which we have had
to endure since the existing Bar Kol supermarket opened.

So, if anybody has the contact details of the officials concerned, or can
help in making direct, and immediate contact, please let us know.

Fourth: This message should passed on to residents in other nearby streets -
Micha and Uriah, since they are also affected by the Bar Kol proposals, and
they should be encouraged to join our protest.

Remember, everybody MUST attend the meeting next Tuesday, in the shul at
Lachish 2.

Thank you all in advance.
