L'ilui nishmas Yechezkel ben Yisroel Shulem u'Zvi Yehudah ben Avraham
Yitzchok A"H

Time is money. Time is mitzvah.
For most people the easiest thing to do is write a check. Check writing is
sometimes much easier than getting your hands dirty. Often times people who
cannot give, end up getting their hands dirty because it's all they can do
to help. But interestingly enough the Torah has a way of equalizing
everyone. Yaakov Avinu said "v'chol asher ti'ten lee aser a'asrenu loch." R'
Moshe Feinstein held that one is mechuyav to share with others one tenth of
everything he possesses, not only one's money. This means one's time and
talents and energy are also subject to maaser. Imagine someone who knows how
to learn Torah, must volunteer to teach others for a small amount of time.
Someone who is good at a particular needed skill such as money management,
may have to spend some of his time helping other who are less fortunate. The
potential list is endless, and although some of this is open to broad
interpretation, the message is clear. Check writing, is not the only way to
give.

Step By Step
I will devote some of my time to help someone with something that I am good
at.
