*Fasting on Erev Rosh Hashana in the merit of a complete recovery for Harav
David Avraham (ben Feige) Spektor, Shlita*

There is a custom recorded in the Shulchan Aruch to fast on Erev Rosh
Hashana (581:2)

In addition, personal fasting is a observed as a way to elicit divine mercy.

Please consider fasting on Wednesday, Erev Rosh Hashana, from Alot
Ha’shahar (5:03am) until Chatzot (12:38 pm)

The fast is appropriate for men or women from the age of Bar Mitzva.

One does not have to formally accept upon himself the fast during Minha the
day before, as one does before voluntary fasts.

outstanding Rav and mentor will arouse heavenly mercy and bring about a

יש מנהג מזכר בשולחן ערוך לצום בראש השנה (581:2). בנוסף צום רשות מיועד להביא
רחמי שמים.

נא לשקול את האפשרות לצום בערב רא השנה, יעשה זה מעלות השחר (5:03) לחצות
(12:38)

הצום נועד לגברים ונשים כאחד, מגיל בר/ בת מצוה. לא חייבים לקבל את הצום יום
לפני.
