Aye. I second ansible.

+1 Ansible route.

You can make the config/setup/playbooks public, and the data as encrypted variables or private repository.

Howdie folks. got a shoemaker-walking-barefoot kind of question.

back before the container days I managed VM farms with puppet and chef, but my private pet machine (about 25 years and counting) has Mailcow, Discourse, Mediawiki and over 10 Wordpress blogs, DNS of ~20 domains and more, still running and managed manually. I just got a good price on a VPS upgrade and I wonder if I should migrate it all with rsync and such, or if I should start from scratch with a management tool. Problem is I worked on big AWS installs for so long, I don't know what are the current hot tools other than Ansible for installing and updating a single machine (idempotently of course). Got any recommendations from your private experience?

Some thanks may apply,

Ira.
