I was asked today, "Do I need to bring pictures to get a new Israeli passport?"

This question has *no one right answer*; each case needs to be looked at individually.

Whereas they will normally take pictures there, in some cases, they do require you to bring, also (like if you are flying within 6 weeks).

*Moral* Be sure to look up the answer for every passport that you need on the official website as the requirements vary for age of applicant, how quickly you need the passport, and more.
