As some of you may know, there is a woman in our neighborhood, Shani Strauss, who recently lost her husband to cancer. It was her second marriage, and she has three kids from the first marriage. She has no support from her family of any kind, due to no contact because they were against the first divorce and second marriage. She was in a severely abusive marriage for eleven years and went to a shelter with her kids for three months.

She got remarried after the divorce and barely had three years with him until he passed away from recently being diagnosed with lymphoma on top of already having a very rare medical condition that prevented him from being exposed to sunlight and any forms of Ultraviolet Rays.

She is still very much grieving his loss, as well as solely trying to support her three children while cleaning other people's homes during the day.

Her oldest son is having a Bar Mitzvah this month and she needs some assistance in making him a simple, yet nice simcha. She has a lot of debt going from a 2 income household to a 1 income household, some acquired from her ex-husband and others from an accumulation of bills that she was unable to pay when everything was being allocated to rent and food.

Other than receiving a 500 NIS supermarket voucher once a month, she isn't receiving any form of financial assistance. She is struggling very much emotionally while trying to hold down the fort and fight her ex-husband in court for lying and causing havoc making her look unfit, which is also costing her a lot of money to try to undo.

Although she is working with a high paying hourly rate, she is still unable to close the month, as well as pay off previous and current debts.
