I accept your reasoning and agree with them.
I still want her to use internet from Linux for two reasons:
1) To minimize support that windows might require (as it is more fragile due
to viruses and spyware)
2) To get most performance from the netbook hardware.
Ah, and there are also ideological reasons... ;-)
