They are slow, unreliable and create lots of interference to radio
signals. Motorola had one called HomePlug, which was supposed to be
used with their noninterfering BPL (broadband over powerline) system.
The canceled the BPL because the comepting systems were so bad all
were outlawed everywhere except the US, they may have canceled
HomePlug too.
My next door neighbor has a different brand it makes radio reception
here almost impossible, It's produces so much electrical noise, they
can't even use WiFi. That's fine for me, it does not stop me from
using WiFi, and helps keep others out of my networks.
