strace -e open

OK, let me correct myself.

Do:

{{{{
LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so strace -f -e open \
	-o skype.strace skype
}}}}

(all in one line).

And then send us "skype.strace". Please use it on a configuration in
which you 
know that Skype detects the camera, and make sure that the camera works there.
