I thought that the two entities in question live in the same broadcast
domain (subnet/vlan) by requirement (just a cable between the NICs in
the original formulation).
In any case, this took us too far from the OP. I would be really
curious to know if iproute2 trickery can solve the problem for Daniel
or for you.
