problem with xls files to read in open office

Regarding the xls files, I just found out that orange xls files where you
have the details of the conversations aren't readable in open office calc.
However it work in microsoft excel. In OpenOffice Calc, it appears in the
begining as xml tags and the rest is something unordered. So those who do
care, please write or talk to orange DATA *663. Otherwise, getting details
of the conversations, are charged. There is  an workaround to solve this
problem. The workaround is to open the file in microsoft excel, save as xls
and then open it in open office.
