Yes, I've read about these problems before, which is why I emphasized
my experience. Thanks to this interview I now know why (Ted mentions
specific steps taken by a Fedora maintainer which is also one
of the *upstream* developers of ext4).

I don't know about your distribution. F10 has been shipping and
updating the KMS and video drivers during the last 5 months
(and as I said earlier, it was very buggy in the beginning).

This doesn't mean there are no bugs. But claiming we are just
starting the bug squashing now is far fetched.
