date command

# date  -d 'Mon 9/11 2:25 AM'
Fri Sep 11 02:25:00 IDT 2009

but i want it to return:
Mon Nov  9 02:25:00 IDT 2009

i tried setting LC_TIME but this didn't help.

any idea ?
