smbfs problem

hi

I try to mount a samba share on my ubuntu 9.10
(it mounts and works ok on an XP machine)

mount.smbfs //192.168.1.2/docs /tmp/mnt -o user=guest,password=""

it mounts ok, the i ls:

cd /tmp/mnt
ls -l

-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root  946 2010-08-07 09:46 info.txt

then i do:

cat info.txt

and i get:

cat: info.txt: Permission denied

any idea ?
