About a month's work worth, to be precise. We are talking about a
month's worth of MY salary. When times are calm, I am willing to accept
such projects under reduced cost, with the understanding that I'm
contributing to an important cause. Read on, however, for why this is
not an option for right now, however.

I have, indeed, submitted this in the past, and was, indeed, rejected
for the stated reasons.

For the record, and so that ISOC do not receive undeserved heat, Lingnu
is involved in a FOSS project with partial ISOC sponsorship at the
moment, which is taking rather longer to complete than anticipated or
promised (http://sourceforge.net/projects/bidiedit, as well as
http://bidiedit.lingnu.com). Until that one is completed, I will totally
justify ISOC in not wanting to open a second front. In fact, I will not
want to open a second front myself, as I believe the first project needs
to be successfully completed before we can open a second one.
I said before that when times are calm I try not to charge full cost for
projects I deem important. Please note that times are not calm right
now. If you check out the commit times on bidiedit (such as
http://bidiedit.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/bidiedit/trunk/BidiTextCtrl.cpp?view=log)
you will see that I'm working on it in evenings, weekends, and, more
often than is good for my health, at unreasonable hours of the night.
This is because I am completely swamped with work on the one hand, but
view this project as too important to (continue to) be let loose on the
other. Taking another project under similar terms is completely out of
the question, and so is dropping this one in favor of the other.
