Now it works OK with firefox as well. I believe they have UIs in many other
languages, though.
I had a lot of data in Ilanot and Gramps, and sought many ways to share is
in a reasonable protected manner among distant family members. None was good
enough, but geni is a sufficient solution (not ideal - their sharing
policies vary in an unpredictable way. Like all of a sudden letting people
you cooperate with have control over profiles you created. We needed to
urgently go and take some people off our lists).
Another geni drawback - if a person dies, and his profile is owned by him,
it looks like there is no way to make him appear dead in geni. You may end
up getting birthday reminders for a dead person. I prefer birthdays than
year-days, but some people find this annoying.
Note that Ilanot (proprietary software, by BET HATFOOTSOT, Windows software)
uses a special format designed for libraries in the seventies, so that it
supports multilingual data. However, exporting the data out gives a lot of
garbage... I tried getting the geni team to support those files, and they
tried a bit, but they did not help me in the end.
I prefer an Online option where I can ask my family to enter their on
