Well, my crystal ball is in repairs today, so I am unable to determine what 
will happen. In any case, Qt 4 is open-source and now LGPLed so a fork is 
always possible if Nokia mismanages it.

Maybe. Maybe not. But basing our judgements on predictions in blog comments, 
which may take years to materialise is not very constructive. I suggest we'll 
handle this issue once and if it materialises, and not worry on it now. I have 
been bothered by some bugs in KDE (including breaking the URL above) which 
were attributed to Qt 4 bugs, but can always nag the Qt developer on the bug 
tracker to fix them and possibly contribute a patch so they will be fixed 
faster. Qt 4 is LPGLed after all. In the meanwhile, it appears that Qt 4 is 
actively developed and there have been several new releases recently.
