Palm to Android via Linux

I've encountered the opposite problem.
Files I create in a Linux text editor (Kwrite) don't open properly in
Windows Notepad. I get the entire file on one line.
Maybe there's something strange going on behind the scenes in KDE?

Windows needs the CRLF pair while Linux provides the LF only at the
end of a text - line
