Hi all,
in order to purge old files from the hard disk, I am looking for a file manager
with the following capabilities:
1. Should have a preview pane that gets updated automatically whenever I select
a different file. Preview of text files should be adequate, but previewing
other file formats would be a nice bonus.
2. Should be able to delete files to a recycle bin, so they can be restored
later on if I want to keep them.
3. Ability to sort based on filename, size, date, etc.
-------------------
So far I've looked at:
1. Krusader - one can press F3 to view a file in a separate window but it pops
up, and it does not get updated automatically when I select another file.
2. GNOME Commander - same problem.
3. Konqueror - preview does not get updated automatically. (probably also
Dolphin)
4. Nautilus - does not appear to have a preview.
Writing a basic file manager like that using Perl/Python/Ruby/etc. should not be
too hard, but I'm looking for prior art first.
Regards,
