power failure - no keyboard in grub menu

Another trick:
1. Turn off the computer.
2. Disconnect the power cable.
3. Press the power button a few times to discharge any built up
electricity.
4. Disconnect the keyboard.
5. Connect the power cable.
6. Turn on the PC and wait until it passes the BIOS screens and into
GRUB.
7. Hold the power button until the computer shuts down (only if it's
stuck!)
8. Reconnect the keyboard and try to boot normally.
All this assuming you have a PS/2 keyboard. If it's a USB keyboard, make
sure the BIOS is set to allow USB keyboards.
